It starts with a camera.....

I have been taking pictures for several years and it all started with the camera seen below.  While I always felt drawn to photography it was never something I thought of trying out until I was required to take a class in college.

The camera was my dads.  Some antique remnant he had from a former life, in a way, and he passed it on to me.  Despite the fact that the light meter no longer worked (I got to be the uber nerdy kid that bought the external one) I loved the camera instantly.  It was heavy, it was slightly worn, it had the typography of the 70's all over it, and best of all, it was something my dad had used.  Then I learned how to develop things in a darkroom and I was hooked.  Friends, there are few things better in this world than loosing hours in a dark, quiet space watching art appear out of no where.  Since then I have (with some regret) moved out of the darkroom and graduated to my digital SLR and my own (although inherited) copy of photoshop.

This blog is something I have been considering for a long while.  But always found one reason or another not to start.  However, I have found that there has been a direct correlation between the quick pace of my life, as of late, and the ache to pick up my camera again, and from that this blog is born.

I will not pretend to be as ambitious to try make this into a 365 project, instead I will be posting weekly.  They will not always be current photos, there will be some (probably several here in the first few weeks) that have been taken previously but I have set aside to touch up.

Please enjoy, and if you have any questions or anything I love comments and email!
